Château Chavagnac as a venue for your professional group or management team residential event

Diana and Aubyn Howard invite you to discover Château Chavagnac, a magnificent venue for management teams or professional groups to come together for residential off-site meetings, workshops, courses or retreats.

The Chavagnac residential philosophy

Unlike large conference centres or hotels, you will have exclusive use of our facility for the duration of your event. It is ideal for shutting off the distractions of the outside world, creating an intimate atmosphere and supporting team building within your group. We want everyone to feel at home and able to relax in a way that is not always possible in a hotel.

Our aim is to create a comfortable, beautiful, simple, resourcing, distraction free environment. The rooms do not have phones or TV’s, although you can have access to French/UK TV in the Château lounge. There is free access to our wi-fi broadband in the Château office. You can also use the projector for group viewing from our library of DVD’s in the evenings.

We can either leave you to get on with your event and provide an informal, flexible and unfussy service when you need it or we can be more active in creating the experience you want and supporting your desired outcomes. This can range from providing group facilitation for management teams and groups (we are both experienced facilitators), to organising activities such as Qi gong, yoga, art, massage and healing treatments, as well as walking, cycling, horse riding or wine tasting!

Our concept for Château Chavagnac has always been to create a resourcing space that makes a difference to the whole human being. We are seasoned attendees at all types of residential events, so we have personal experience of what is needed.

Accommodation and facilities

We can accommodate 5-9 people 'business team style' or up to 12 'personal group style'.

We have nine guest bedrooms (with 16 beds between them), most of which have their own bathroom.

The “Old Chapel” is a dedicated medium sized meeting room (26m2) with a small circular tower off to the side (7m2), with tables, chairs, projector, flip charts and other meeting room facilities.

You can also use the Château Lounge (31m2) for sofa style meetings or the dinning room (31m2) for board room style meetings.

In the summer you might want to work outside, either under the covered barn by the pool, on the terrace or on the lawn.

The type of meals provided can be tailored to your needs. Our approach is generally to use fresh local in season ingredients, organic where possible. Our cuisine is a mix of local french with English foibles. Aubyn has a passion for local wines and will offer you a range of choices than can be included in your day rate. We like to operate an open bar policy (within reason) as well as provide self-service facilities for soft drinks, fruit and other snacks.

Other activities

During the summer your group can enjoy exclusive use of the outdoor 12m swimming pool. The pool area houses games such as boules and table-tennis. There are also many great walks of different degrees of difficulty within easy reach of the Château. We can also organise a range of other outdoor activities, including VTT mountain biking, horse ridding, go-karting, quad biking, etc.

Less physically exerting options include wine tasting at the Château or at local caves, a visit to Valrhona chocolate factory and shop, or cultural excursions to Tournon and beyond.

Healing treatments and other alternative options. We can organise for a range of healing treatments and alternative therapies to be provided, including massage, Reiki and shiatsu. Diana is also a qualified Kineisiologist and Reiki master.
